Hurt but still dangerous!

Monday night game is always hard damn it. The working schedule is so tight that usually makes it impossible. This Monday though everything worked and here we are marching to Soridon for the usual. Beer and Sankt Pauli. Damn it can it get any better?

First half underway and things did not look good . We’re missing 3 basic players. Buchtmann, Bouhaddouz and Sobiech amongst others and the team has only defense and offence. No mid line to hold the ball a bit and stabilize ball possession.FCN on the other hand seemed to be having no problems  on their game play.  Despite that though and despite the fact that they were pushing the pace, they caused no serious threat in these first have. Well actually no more than two three times. A corner for FCN on 5’ with Möhwald is their first. No threat at all. On 9’ Litka causes confusion with the ball , shoots but finds the outer netting. On 13’ Sobota tries a distant shot but Kirschbaum finds no problem in blocking it. On 29’, danger in our box. FCN tries to open a high ball. Avevor sends it with a header back to Himmelmann but Werner is close and tries to steal a goal. Only thing he achieves though is a collision with Himmelmann who secured the ball. No harm done. On 33’ the biggest chance for FCN. Valentini  after changing passes with Salli shoots a heavy shot from 15 meters. The ball goes between Himmelmann’s legs and is driven to a corner.  The corner of course goes to waste, and so does the rest of this first half. Biggest chance of the first half for FCN. Sankt Pauli could do better of course but things could be much worse so in the end, no harm done. Final whistle sends the players to the lockers.

Second half underway and from what we saw on the first, we’re hoping for the best but expecting the worst. And our fears get back to us on 50’. Margreitter shoots a dynamite that luckily misses our nets for some few centimeters and hits the upper post. The rebound goes to Werner who shoots again and hits the upper post AGAIN. Now this is the luck we should have in every game from now and on. Let’s do this again shall we? On 58’ Litka tries to turn back the favor shooting from  distance of 20 meters. The ball though goes a bit above Kirschbaum’s upper post. On 63’ the LAW OF FOOTBALL stands. The team that losses all the chances get’s to suck all the goals. And this happened here. FCN clearly the better team and definitely the one with the most distinct chances to open the score. Missed them though. Sobota steals the ball close to FCN box and opens the score for Sankt Pauli. The confusion in FCN is obvious. Petrak on 68’ shoots from 25 meters but finds the outer nets. On 70’ Himmelmann blocks Salli ’s shot but not tight. The ball slips him and goes to Werner who tries to shoot but Himmelmann on second attempt secures. Substitutions and the 5’ xtra time made no difference. The final whistle left us with the smile of victory nailed upon our faces and FCN wandering what the fuck had just happened.

Picture from a trash paper that we don’t give a fuck to mention, winner gets a free copy 😉

Game ended and the hurt Sankt Pauli proved that we’re a bloody tough shell to crack. The game obviously would be either in defense or in offence. There was no mid line and our players had to play 100% for 90-plus minutes. They ended up gaining these very valuable 3 points taking us up to the second position in the ranks along with other 3 teams. The following match days will clear the situation a bit more in the ranks. Let’s hope our injured players will heal up soon and enter the field once again. Till then, let’s focus on Ingolstadt on Saturday. Forza Sankt Pauli!
