Fans can do a lot but (unfortunately) can’t do it all…

Hmmm… we may encounter a “slight” problem with this 🙂 (source:

Yeps… the USP along with all the other FCSP allied fan forces had a quite easy evening yesterday at the Mercedes Benz Arena. About 3000 people were sounding, all along the game, louder than the entire VfB Stuttgart curve, we enjoyed the whole repertoire of FCSP Glorious chants loud and clear, we even had some spectacular highlights like the pyro above (which is expected though to create some “minor headaches”).  To make it even better, the boys were dressed in the lucky ( 🙂 ) and Glorious 2005-6 outfit! Well, seems that all this additional help was not enough against a really serious opponent that is at least one level above us anyway… VfB Stuttgart kicked our asses Bundesliga-style in the first half, ran on “maintenance mode” during the second and ended the match with a comfortable 3-0 that easily could be worse. However, that wasn’t in any case problem for the fans that didn’t stop partying even on the way home… Well, fans can’t do it all but with a crowd like this and a LITTLE help from the team, the season can be easily secured 🙂

Second stop for this seasons DFB Pokal cup is VfB Stuttgart, a pretty beautiful place with an awful team.

Stuttgart At Night

Our opponent’s latest news is a massive defeat from Bayern Munchen with 6-1 score. Now, posing at the last place of the Bundesliga standings, they must get up clean the dust from their clothes and give us a chance to get them dirty again. Of course I am not talking about huge scores here, a victory with only one goal suits me just fine.

Finally, after three years I think, we made it to the next round of the DFB cup. As you all know thinks are not running pretty smooth for St. Pauli and this is obvious after our first appearances. The boys in brown will have to give a lot of rough fights in the field this year in order to keep the team in the second league (lets be realistic, we need a BIG miracle in order to get promoted).
The good news is that we easily won the first round and broke a three year tradition that wanted us out of the DFB cup.

The usual DFB Pokal fiasco avoided – mission completed

Scum asked a question on June 23rd:  “Some brain-food for the end: New season outfits were out today – no third DFB Pokal red kit, as used to, included – why?”. The answer was given yesterday: The already “humiliated” one (two years in a row disqualified from microbrewery squads) was withdrawn in favor…of the glorious 2005-6 season kit which seemed to had a positive influence (we’re joking, right?) on the squad, who had an easy afternoon against Offenburger FV and at the end prevailed easily with 0-3.

…and off we go! Two days before summer preparation, the DFB Pokal 2012-13 draw took place today. The squad (we ‘ll get back to this later) will travel close to the French-German borders, particularly to Offenburg. Seems like an idyllic place with a first look but dont fool yourselves! Some late season results (Chemnitzer FC, Eintracht Trier) along with the UNKNOWN present team condition lead to the conclusion that Offenburg may be proven less friendly than it looks…
