First of all, happy new season everybody, as yesterday’s draw signaled the beginning of 2018-19 activities. Of course this is only typical and in essence nothing more than a connection to the things to come, before a long period of slumber and mostly transfer rumours that will be interrupted once again shortly on June 29th for the Liga 2 schedule draw. However, we now know our 1st round opponent: it’s SSV Wehen Wiesbaden and after the first (ignorant, read below) Scum reaction, is considered, especially considering our Pokal history (you don’t even need history, just look back at last year ^^). one of the opponents that we certainly wouldn’t prefer, read on 😉

Home Safe 🙂

…and they lived happily ever after… this standard fairytale conclusion maybe not precise enought to describe the overall situation (hard times will come again) but fits like a glove when coming to describe the relief, hapiness and the resulting euphoria (natural and comparable to drugs 😀 ) that Sunday’s match caused. Yeah, the Boys in Brown stood up to the standards when it was mostly required, did what they had to do in the pitch, secured Liga 2 and gave us one of the best weekends that we had in the last years, read on 🙂

Scottish Shower!

I guess it is not up to us yet to visit Hamburg and have the fun of both winning the game and spending quality time with friends. No doubts for the second. A trip to Hamburg is a guaranteed win situation man. Good friends, tons of alcohol and the proper atmosphere is what you need in your expeditions. Now as for the first, we can hope but never be sure, especially with the face our beloved Sankt Pauli shows in the field lately.

Talk is cheap

Well, well, here we are… ^^ From a situation where everything was looking under control (people were asking Kauczinski about promotion on PKs 😀 ) some weeks ago to a point when we all start doing calculations about the points required to secure the league. The fact that this change is also a result of a crazy situation with most of the squads squashing within a quite narrow point range is not an excuse. It’s not only about our place in the table, it’s also about the football we play…

Let’s use our brain for a change, shall we?

Unacceptable. As simple as that. You can’t beat a team like Frontzeck’s (yeh, yeh….remember that “gentleman”?) Kaiserslautern, you’re no good yourself. We were definitely better in every aspect. But that just won’t cut it! Defensively we suck big time, but that is not our only problem. Analysis to it though later. For now, just read below and witness how our beloved Sankt Pauli managed to lose the 3-pointer from this game…

Still better than nothing!

Damn it we had to win this. Seriously this was our game. So many chances gone to waste and almost got to the point where we could easily gain no point at all. We definitely looked confident. Ball down and the game play unfolded in a way that seemed organized and aggressive. It is just that the goal still wasn’t there. Is it the curse of Millerntor? Is it something missing from our final chances? Don’t know yet. Read below!

Momentum breakdown

All we needed was to keep that momentum. Fortuna was no easy case here and we knew it. Three points could easily pop em up to the first place (which eventually they did) and so they would kill for them. All we needed to do was keep a tight line on defense and hope for a good counter attack or why not a good and well organized offense. In the end we were just happy to leave Fortuna’s field defeated but decent.

Oooooh Yesh!!!

Now…who would have thought? Couple of weeks ago we were nagging about how Sankt Pauli was a sinking ship and so on, thinking of the outcome of the following games as they were supposed to be the hard ones and then…Sankt Pauli just proved everyone wrong by taking the giants down one at a time. Kiel entered Millerntor this time thinking that winning the three points would be an easy job. Right? Right??? Well, what they didn’t think about was their way back to Kiel with a sore ass.
