Fair enough

First of all, this shouldn’t be a 0-0, this was adventurous, final result sounds like a slight injustice towards both teams which offered us a quite entertaining afternoon, alright 🙂 To speak brown white, we looked slightly better and had the opprtunity to win the game during the first 3 quarters of the game but the fact that we didn’t leave the field defeated after the last one passed as well makes the draw at least a fair deal 😉

The known brown white optimism at Soridon but this time more balanced, two the possible reasons: a) the lesson from Union last week and b) the fact that place (and people) hadn’t completely recovered from St. Patrick’s previous evening, which ended under proper sunlight 😀 By 14:25 local time everything in order, most “returning customers” there (Mr. Kostas, the respectful local electrician present, AndyChristos absent on toor, good omens ^^), “militant” mood and something like the first day of Spring in Athens outside – good to go 😉

Close game during the opening stages, with FCSP looking just a little more determined in terms of space and possession and the first chance for the Boys in Brown on 8′ with a Nehrig diving header after a Sobota corner that could mean instant death for H96 but ended wide instead, not the easiest task under the circumstances anyway. Quick response for H96 (10′) with an Albornoz good shot, a little outside the box, ending up corner thanks to a Gonther intervention. Good pace, FCSP more under the spotlight, trying actually to penetrate in lots of different ways and a good chance again on 22′ with Ziereis reaching first to the ball after a Sahin (Hell from the flanks!) cross from the left, winning… Bouhaddouz on the air but ball ended wide to the displeasure of both gentlemen 🙂 Close but not really boring game for the remaining half, having not much to offer in term of opportunities though. Lots of work, lots of attempts but nothing really all the way. Half actually closed with an opportunity for H96 (45′), an Anton 20m or so shot, JUST by Heerwagen’s right post junction, brrrrrrrr…. HT 0-0 after a game that nobody wanted to lose but it was obvious that both wanted, for different reasons of course, to win – even though we seemed as the better team, this for sure had a long way to go ^^

2nd half kicked off in the same motive, with the Boys in Brown trying to find ways inside the opponent’s box, something that almost happened on 56′ but Bakalorz intervened in the very last moment in front of Möller Daehli, cleared Sahin’s cross from the right and saved the day for H96! Less than a minute later (57′) and before even I get back to my fuckin’ stool, new chance for FCSP! Deep forward Buballa ball, Bouhaddouz got the ball, entered the box under pressure from the left and tried a 7-8m, 45-degree-angle shot which ended bouncing on the opposite post – AAAAAARRRGHHH!!! FCSP pressing more and more, we had almost forgotten that Hannover was also in the game (we shouldn’t ^^) and another good one for FCSP on 72′, when Buchtmann, after correctly applying high pressing, stole the ball, had a few meters from the left and then made a diagonal cross in the heart of the box where Thy dived for the goal but Tschauner (OOOH MAN, YNWA 🙂 , hello also Seb Maier 😉 ) did his job and repelled ball to safety! And again immediately afterwards (73′), another BIG one with a Sobota 10m, ready-to-kill shot deflecting slightly frst to a leg and then to a back to end up just over Tschauni’s crossbar!!! <screaming of choice here> We tried in different ways, we didn’t do it and the clock reached 80′, with most of it being about FCSP. Now start counting: Colossal chance for H96 on 81′, quick counter attack from the left, Bech to Füllkrug with the FCSP defense having been neutralised but Ziereis, last man standing behind Heerwagen, saved his shot and us. Moments later (82′), a direct Anton 18m shot, saved this time not by Ziereis but by our right post, we’re even. And before anybody had time to spit his drink on the floor, a new, INDESCRIBABLE chance for H96 within the same minute – with Harnik missing in front of helpless Heerwagen what simply needs some effort to be missed 😀 Talking about indescribable chances, they had one more one 86′, but Bech’s lame finish, from inside the keeper’s box, that Heerwagen managed to block (was actually more difficult to comprehend what happened than block the ball 😀 ) is more suitable to a corporate 5×5 high executives tournament than Liga 2 😀 Last notable moment of the game belonged to us, a Kalla 50m rally from the right all the way into the box, resulting to a 15m diagonal shot, blocked by Tschauner on 91′. FT 0-0 but one of the most entertaining clean sheet draws we have watched during the last seasons, no matter how much both teams wanted the game, none of them should complain, especially us 🙂

With the exception of the closing 10′ we were really good. There’s only one little problem: if a game was lasting for 80′, we could probably make it to Europa League instead of relegating on 2011 – we didn’t… Leaving the cheap Scum humor aside, we don’t have the luxury of blacking out boys, not speaking 10′, not even for a single fuckin’ second… Yesterday was only luck and H96 offensive superficiality that saved us from throwing completely in the trash bin a lot of hard work – there was a lot of hard work yesterday. Every detail counts from now on and every single one of them can make the difference between Heaven And Hell on May ^^

Pointwise, we’re also happy, we’re now in a position of needing less than the impossible to survive, so under the certain circumstances (H96 is no joke) and the way that match flowed to be unsatisfied would be somehow… ungrateful 😀 OK then, where do we go from here? Next weekend we have an exhibition-of-national-pride-via-football break so there’s plenty of time for work and we better work hard because next stop is… Aue

Exactly, 6pt survival battle. We’re pretty sure that Ewald Lienen and the staff will cover all the technical details just fine. Nevertheless, the overall concept regarding what is required to do is actually pretty simple. So, to further reinforce the squad’s learning curve (just in case that someone drops accidentally by us during the daily brown white tabloid examination process 😀 ), we will write it on our Scum blackboard:

KICK ASS! KICK ASS! KICK ASS! KICK ASS! KICK ASS! KICK ASS! KICK ASS! KICK ASS! KICK ASS!
